This one of a couple birds of prey shows I saw in Australia. Some of the eagles they have Down Under are truly beautiful. For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of this particular one. This show though took place on Kangaroo Island, a relatively small strip of island on Australia's south coast. I did a day trip out there for a bit of wildlife sightseeing.

Okay, so it's not really an attack as much it was a close call. Actually it's not even really that either. All the same, this was pretty cool. This was on one of many, many hikes my tour group and I took through the outback. We spotted this kangaroo spotting us from up high on a hillside and within seconds he came bounding down, landing literally feet in front of us.

This is the second Dusky Dolphin swim I did off the east coast of New Zealand. A fellow traveler was kind enough to lend me his underwater camera after mine decided to break itself and I managed to get about three good clips of footage. Yes, those dolphins are as close as they look, and yes, that's me humming like a Mogwai in the background.

Potato cod's (the big white ones with black spots) happily greeted us as our trip director, Trent, dispersed food from a big plastic box. The whole dive lasted about 35 minutes.

Fraser Island

This was just a bit of video I shot from my three day trek out to Fraser Island, a massive sand island off the eastern coast of Australia. Hop into a four wheeler with eight other backpackers and they take you across endless stretches of beach, as well as some really great tours of rainforest, rivers, deserts, and lakes-yes, these are all on the same island.

Dusky Dolphin Swim

This has got to be, hands down, one of the coolest things I have ever done. Massive pods of dolphins off the east coast of New Zealand swarm regularly near the quint essential Kiwi town of Kaikoura. Throw on a wet suit, snorkel, and in ya go! The captain of our ship said we had about 200 dolphins swimming around us that day. Simply put-unreal.
