I had to return a hire car to the airport and I thought i'd see what the camera picked up, it was about 5:15 -5:30pm which is pretty dark for this time of year in Melbourne (Southern Hemisphere) and I was impressed with the video the camera was able to pick up. Quick look at the control towers all lit up. Directional microphone picked up the reverse thrust just at the end.

My camera light takes the same battery as my Sony camera, HDR-AX2000e, the guy in the shop said don't buy non-Sony for your camera they won't work. See what happens when you put a non-Sony battery in the camera.
It's a bit like Sony are saying get that crap out of this camera, it's not worthy! LOL

So I had to go and buy a light for my camera, there was this light for a little over $200 and a Sony light for over $700. I think this one had a higher lux than the Sony plus it was cheaper HELLO. LOL Purchased in Michaels Melbourne City.

ok, still my first day, my tripod arm was getting in the way and i changed it around a bit but then the camera was unbalanced so I screwed up at the end.
I bought new HD TV to watch some of my videos on, so much better than a Mac... ! LOL But then it's a big Sony Bravia screen:-)
Anyway.. i hope you like the audio at least.

First day time recording with my new Sony Semi-pro Handycam. Shame about the fog. Planes landing on Rwy 16 today too. I forgot to move the switch for my directional microphone so have a look at the video and listen to some audio from my recent Emirates flight. Hope to go out later today and film again.

Well i've checked this file and it includes the take off. Have no idea how the take off was missing as it was in my project. 3rd segment from LHR to MEL which began 29th March and ended early hours 31 March 2012.

Extra footage of the landing into Barcelona, you can hear the captain talk about a change in runway. Flight was from LHR to BCN. At the end of the video is a few seconds clip of the underground train i used to get from where I was staying to the city centre where the marathon was starting.
