The most common of the Flounder species, the Peacock Flounder relies on its highly modified body shape and pattern to conceal itself in the sediment. If that fails, they can move at a good pace to a new location.

There are patches of various sea grass species around the Port Douglas & Daintree coastline but this little patch is within the mangrove maze of Woody Isle. A juvenile Green Turtle was have a munch in this case.
