Sunbury Airport Sunbury Airport
Posted by: 150pilot

Video duration: 88 seconds

The Sunbury Airport is on the east side of the confluence of the East and West Branches of the Susquehanna River. The airport itself lies on island. When the Susquehanna floods the airport and the associated island homes are subject to flooding. Floods in the past have been worse. It didn't look like the flooding was that bad this time. And that is a good thing.

While it isn't the worst they ever experienced it did close the airport. Looks like they are putting in a new runway. Hopefully it'll be higher than the old runway. After the flyby of the airport we went past the fairgrounds where water also got into some of the buildings.
