Russia is the largest country in the world, and comprises of a huge land mass filled with diverse cultures, scenic wonders and is the answer to an avid Adventure seeker's prayer. The number of Adventure Travel Destinations in Russia is endless and a traveler would have to spend years of constant exploration before enjoying all that this vast country has to offer.

Bordering Finland and the Baltic Sea, this great country extends eastward to the Pacific Ocean, borders China, North Korea and extends northward to the Arctic Ocean. Being such a vast land, the first hurdle for the intending tourist is to decide which Adventure Travel Destination in Russia is best to begin with.

Moscow is the capital city of Russia and steeped in history, it has much to offer the tourist in the way of majestic buildings, cathedrals and monuments. Visit the Red Square and capture views of the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral. There is even a McDonalds nearby. Moscow is also the place to board the Trans Siberian Railway and what better way is there to explore Russia than by Rail.

The Trans Siberian Railway is a duplicated electrified track that extends for nearly 6,000 miles and passes through seven time zones on it's route from Moscow to Vladivostok on the Pacific coast. The journey takes six or seven days. Apart from the benefit of being taken on a meandering trip through some spectacular countryside, the traveler can break his journey to explore many other interesting areas. The journey can then be resumed on a following train, the only proviso for this service is that you must have booked a ticket for the entire journey.

There are Many river systems throughout the country that make Russia an ideal Adventure Travel Destination for the water sport enthusiast. Lake Baikal, the largest and deepest body of freshwater in the world, is an ideal venue for boat enthusiasts and trekkers. The lake is encircled by the Trans Siberian Railway and provides many splendid views for the train traveler.

Mount Elbrus is the highest Mountain in Europe and has excellent slopes for skiing, professional guides are available to ensure your safety. Snow board riders can experience the thrill of snow boarding in the Caucasus Mountains and at the volcanoes of Kamchatka which are acclaimed by many as the best snow boarding areas in the world.
